Overview: Sustainability at FSU

On Sept. 15, 2007, Frostburg State University officially became a charter member of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). This commitment provides framework and support for American colleges and universities to eventually go climate neutral. Read more about the ACUPCC. FSU understands that promoting environmental sustainability must happen at the college and university level.

Learning Green, Living Green (LGLG): Frostburg State University's Sustainability Initiative
The phrase "Learning Green, Living Green" was chosen to represent FSU's roots in education and highlight its commitment to learning. The LGLG Initiative includes a steering committee, various subcommittees, and an intensive communications campaign.

The goal of the LGLG Initiative is to engage the FSU community. On this Web site you will find:

Why Do Anything?
Climate change is one of the greatest threats of the 21st century. Along with all other industries, higher education has a moral and social responsibility to address this challenge. As the educators of tomorrow's leaders, higher education has a tremendous impact on promoting environmental awareness.
