Learning Green, Living Green

Sustainability at FSU

On Sept. 15, 2007, Frostburg State University officially became a charter member of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). This commitment provides framework and support for American colleges and universities to eventually go climate neutral. FSU understands that promoting environmental sustainability must happen at the college and university level.

Learning Green, Living Green (LGLG): Frostburg State University's Sustainability Initiative

LGLG Mission - Frostburg State University's Learning Green, Living Green Initiative engages students, faculty, staff, and community members to develop and coordinate programs and projects that create sustainable solutions to environmental, social, and economic needs.

LGLG Vision - We will promote positive changes in the behaviors and actions of Frostburg State University students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community members that will reduce our environmental impacts and create sustainable solutions for our daily lives.

Why Do Anything?

Frostburg State University believes that sustaining a thriving civil society in the face of climate change and resource overconsumption is one of civilization’s greatest challenges.  Through the Learning Green, Living Green (LGLG) sustainability initiative and numerous related measures, the University is preparing students, faculty, staff, and community members to address these growing issues.
