Frostburg State University’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has been ranked a “Best Buy” by GetEducated.com, the consumer guide to online colleges, in its independent review of online nursing programs. FSU’s RN to BSN completion program ranked fifth among all competing options nationwide.

Thanks to support from the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group (NYSE: PNC), Frostburg State University Children’s Literature Centre was able recently to expand its Adopt-A-School program and provide under-served Allegany County schools with an author-in-residence and other related activities in support of its broad-based literacy initiative.

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III All-Stars have been announced and Frostburg State juniors Kevin Kean and Dylan Shupe were both voted to the South Region First Team, Friday.

FROSTBURG, Md. - A walk-off single doesn't sound as exciting as a walk-off home run, but softball's 4-3 eight-inning, come-from-behind victory over York (Pa.) provided plenty of action and checks in at No. 6 in the countdown.

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's soccer match against York (Pa.) in the CAC Tournament semifinals fits the bill as an exciting home game, but would be much higher in the count if it weren't for the final outcome. The Bobcats suffered a 4-3 setback in double overtime and this marks the second time a loss has cracked the top-10 most exciting games. The OT loss falls in at No. 7 in the countdown.

Frostburg State University’s BURG Peer Education Network was named Outstanding Regional Affiliate at the annual BACCHUS Regional Conference held recently at Elon University in North Carolina. Don Swogger, director of FSU’s S.A.F.E. Office, was named Outstanding Advisor, and Shawn Golden Llewellyn, a 2001 graduate, was given the Outstanding Alumni award.

The Frostburg Center for Creative Writing is celebrating the sixth annual Nightsun Writers Conference on Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, July 28, in downtown Frostburg, Md. The program provides participants with workshop opportunities, individualized feedback on their work and craft sessions and is designed to generate new material for publication, hone the participants’ creative writing skills and initiate a larger writing community.
