With the fall 2015 semester, Frostburg State University has reached its highest overall enrollment in its 117-year history, including its highest-ever undergraduate student population. Solid numbers of returning students and a healthy increase in graduate students were the strongest contributors to this year’s enrollment numbers.

Frostburg State University’s Gira Center for Communications and Information Technology has been awarded LEED® Gold certification, a program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.

The Allegany Museum in Cumberland could see more visitors and dollars come through its doors thanks to a study from Frostburg State University marketing students.

As part of a capstone course, MKTG 469 Marketing Plans Development, undergraduate marketing majors team up to take on clients from the community that receive free research and advice after a semester’s worth of work.

FSU Center for Literary Arts Presents One-Act Play Festival

The FSU Center for Literary Arts, formerly the Center for Creative Writing, will host its sixth annual One-Act Play Festival on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Palace Theater in Frostburg. The festival showcases the top three winning plays of the 2015 One-Act Playwriting Competition with a full performance of the first-place play and staged readings of the second- and third-place plays. Performances will start at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
