Frostburg State University celebrated and recognized the achievements of its May 2013 graduating class during the University’s 142nd commencement ceremonies on May 18 in the Harold J. Cordts Physical Education Center’s Main Arena.

Frostburg State University graduate Craig Bowman has been named the FSU College of Business Alumnus of the Year. He was presented with the honor by FSU President Jonathan Gibralter at the annual College of Business Honors Reception held recently, which also recognized the top business students of the year.

FROSTBURG, Md. – D3baseball.com released its 2013 All-South Region teams on Thursday and Frostburg State had a trio of players selected. Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year Kevin Kean grabbed first team all-region honors, while Dylan Shupe was named to the second team and J.K. Filauro was placed on the team third team.

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State senior centerfielder Taylor Vandegrift earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Banquet, Thursday evening. Vandegrift becomes the program's first All-American after being placed on the third team.

Every year, Frostburg State University holds a Leadership Awards Ceremony hosted by the Office of Leadership and Experiential Learning, a way of saying thank you to the campus leaders who give so much to FSU, the local community and the world. At the ceremony, people from all over campus join together to celebrate another successful year and what it means to be a Bobcat.

The Frostburg Center for Creative Writing is celebrating the sixth annual Nightsun Writers Conference on Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, July 28, in downtown Frostburg, Md. The program provides participants with workshop opportunities, individualized feedback on their work and craft sessions and is designed to generate new material for publication, hone the participants’ creative writing skills and initiate a larger writing community.
