FSU's Center Stage to Present Singer Amanda Garrigues

Frostburg State University's Center Stage will present singer Amanda Garrigues Live! at the Loft on Thursday, March 6, at 8 p.m. in the Lane University Center. This performance is free and open to the public.

Hailing from Gainesville, Fla., Garrigues is a seasoned performer with extensive touring experience. Her influences range from Ani DeFranco to Joni Mitchell, from the Indigo Girls to Suzanne Vega.

Garrigues has built a reputation as a strong singer and guitarist with a passionate delivery style that sets her apart. She pays tribute to themes of home, family and independence in her original songs.

According to the Independent Florida Alligator, "Garrigues' finely crafted acoustic treasures reflect an honest maturity that rarely rears its head in the work of most modern pop rock artists."
