The Activities for Life Center at Frostburg State University will offer a Reflexology Class Mondays from March 31 to April 28 in the Cordts PE Center Room 113-1 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Reflexology is a safe and simple approach that promotes better health by reducing stress and tension. It is an effective alternative that can stimulate the body's natural ability to heal and resist disease. Every organ, gland and body part is represented on your feet and hands; these are called reflexes. By applying a unique finger- and thumb-walking technique to a specific area on the feet or hands, a given reflex is addressed. This stimulates the nerve endings and improves circulation via stimulation to the nervous system. Reflexology enhances total body relaxation, leading to the balancing of all internal and external body systems. Joan Stewart, certified reflexologist, will be instructing the class. Stewart received her Reflexology certification in 1995 and her massage certification in 2002.
Participants must register by Friday, March 21. Refunds will not be given after the start of the class. For information and registration contact Amy Nazelrod, Center Coordinator, at (301) 687-7934.
