Frostburg State University actuarial science students Michael Rothka and Joshua Broadwater passed the first actuarial examination offered by the Society of Actuaries. Their names have been added to the list of successful exam candidates at FSU over the past nine years. Rothka and Broadwater both graduated from FSU in May with their actuarial science degree.
In addition, Broadwater, a graduate of Westmar High School, also completed the requirements for a mathematics major and was a member of the local chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honorary society, and worked for CBIZ in Cumberland.
Rothka graduated from Cannon-McMillan Senior High School in Pennsylvania. After graduation, both men plan to pursue careers in actuarial science for insurance or consulting firms.
