The Frostburg State University Activities for Life Center will offer a golf clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. from Aug. 26 to Sept. 18. The class will be held at the Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg with golf pro Rick Flowers as the instructor.
Flowers will offer eight one-hour clinics over the four-week period. Clinics will include group and individual instruction. Sessions, designed primarily for beginner and intermediate golfers, will focus on the golf swing, putting, chipping, rules and etiquette. Players will benefit most by having a full set of golf clubs, but a 7 iron, wedge, putter and wood will be adequate. Golf shoes would provide the most benefit, but sneakers would be sufficient. The class is limited to 12 participants. Registration and fees must be paid no later than Aug. 19.
