How much do you know about federal, state and local human rights laws that affect both employers and employees? Do you know how to access the agencies and information that you would need to deal with issues in the workplace?
To discuss these issues and others, a free half-day workshop is being held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 8:30 am to 12 noon at the Lane University Center of Frostburg State University. Representatives from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Maryland Commission on Human Relations and the MD Chapter of the National Association of Human Rights Workers will be presenting information on how to prevent employment discrimination and disputes, recognizing the underlying problems, and how employers the agencies deal with complaints.
Although the workshop is free, seating is limited. To register by Sept. 10 please contact Keith Merkey by telephone at (410) 767-8560, by fax at (410) 333-1841, or by email at kmerkey@mail.mchr.state.md.us.
