RE: University Closed Until 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20th
In the wake of Hurricane Isabel, Frostburg State University will be closed starting at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18th and will reopen at 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20th. All classes, events and activities are cancelled during this time. Only Code Red Personnel should report to work. Announcements about other activities this weekend will be forthcoming.
According to recent reports, the storm should hit Western Maryland late tonight and early Friday morning with heavy rains and severe winds. In the event of prolonged power outages, temporary shelters will be available in both the Performing Arts Center and Compton Science Center for RESIDENCE HALL and EDGEWOOD COMMONS students. In addition to Compton and PAC, the only buildings that will remain open in an outage will be Chesapeake (for meals), Lane University Center and the Ort Library. OFF-CAMPUS RESIDENTS can seek shelter at Beall High School and Frostburg Community Center (Water Street).
For the latest information on the status of our University, you are encouraged to call the FSU voice-mail system at 301-687-4030 for updates.
Thank you.
