Frostburg State University's Homecoming festivities will continue Saturday, Oct. 18, as Frostburg's Main Street plays host to a "Blast from the Past" community parade.
Featuring more than 45 units, the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Armstrong Avenue and Main Street.
Parade marshal is Clifford M. Kendall, chairman of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
Some of the units featured include the FSU Marching Band and Bobcat Cheerleaders, Boy Scout Troop 42 and American Legion Farrady Post 24 sharing color guard duties, the George's Creek Cruisers and Classy Chassis car clubs, FSU fraternities and sororities, a number of local fire departments, FSU and local elected officials, and more. Mountain City CB club will offer its services to provide communication along the parade route.
"We're grateful to the city of Frostburg and the people who handle the permits at the State Highway Administration for all their help putting this together," said Dave Treber, coordinator of the parade for FSU.
