The Frostburg State University Department of Music presents its Winter Choral Concert, Sunday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. Under the direction of Dr. Karen Soderberg Sarnaker, conductor, and assisted by Betty Jane Phillips, accompanist, the concert will feature the University Chorale.
The University Chorale’s performance will include “Domine, Ad Adjuvandum Me Festina” by the Baroque composer G. B. Martini with soloists Jennifer Hurt, soprano, Emily Fishell, alto, Joshua Ruppenkamp, tenor and bass-baritone George Jones. Other selections include “Alleluia” by Ralph Manuel, “Three Rossetti Lyrics” by Daniel G. Gawthrop, “White Horses” by Gwyneth Walker, “The Blue Bird” by Charles Stanford, “Erev Shel Shoshanin” arranged by Jack Kehanow and “River, Stay ‘way from my Door” arranged by Jacques C. Rizzo. The concert will close with performance of three spirituals: “Hallelujah” arranged by Robert DeCormier, the late Moses Hogan’s “I’m Gonna Sing ‘Til The Spirit Moves In My Heart” and “Hark, I Hear the Harp’s Eternal” arranged by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker.
