Frostburg State University’s 2004 International Film Series will present the movie “Judgement Day” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, in Lane University Center Room 201.
This video, comparing the current Israeli/Palestinian conflict with the previous struggle for liberation and democracy in South Africa, makes a universal statement about war and the effects of war on young people. The movie begins with two young South Africans who explain their experiences in their country and their current search for healing. After tracing the 1967 occupation by Israel of the Palestinian territories and examining the viewpoint of the Israeli settler communities, it examines the consequences and perspectives of Israeli citizens and Palestinians affected by the current situation of “closure” and “collective punishment.”
“Judgement Day” is directed by Kevin Harris.
The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. For more information, contact the Lane University Center Information Desk at 301-687-4411. The International Film Series is sponsored by Center Stage and the FSU Department of Student and Community Involvement.
