Students in Frostburg State University’s Economic Department will present their senior seminars over the next few weeks in FSU’s Guild Center room 113 beginning at 12:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
FSU seniors selected their projects in early February and have spent the semester performing empirical research and testing hypotheses. Several of the projects are related to sports.
The April 27 seminar will include presentations from Ron Ritcher and Nick Anastasion on “Performance Measures and the Effect on Earnings or Professional Golfers” and Christa Moore and Patrick Synder on “The Economic Effects of NAFTA on the Member Countries.”
The April 29 seminar will include presentations from Tommy Cable on “The Economic Effects of Bank Mergers” and Nathan Mazer and Aaron Freburger on “Does Crime Influence the Demand for Firearms?”
The May 4 seminar will include presentations from Bruce Simmons, Kyle Beck and Lee Chisholm on “What Influences NFL Ticket Prices?” and Scott White on “Do New Sports Stadiums Influence Team Revenues?”
The May 6 seminar will include presentations from David Fulk and Justin Robertson on “Does Gun Control Regulation Influence Crime Rates?” and James Alexander on “Factors Affecting the Demand for Natural Gas.”
The May 11 seminar will include a presentation from Blair Penny and Aaron Smith on “What Influences Attendance at Professional Sports Events?”
