Winners of the Environmental Photography Contest, sponsored by the Environmental Planning and Land Management Institute at Frostburg State University, will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday, April 30, at 5 p.m. in the Compton Science Center's second floor atrium. All contest entrants are invited; winners will not be notified in advance.
The public may view the photographs chosen as finalists in the Lewis J. Ort Library from Tuesday, April 27, to Friday morning, April 30.
First prize is a cash certificate from Mettiki Coal, LLC, a digital camera from the Maryland Coal Association, a certificate for a camera bag from Leasure Photography Studios, a gift certificate from ChrisStudio and a gift certificate for an 11-by-14 photo from Olan Mills Portrait Studios. Second prize is cash certificates from AES Warrior Run Inc., Maryland Coal Association, a gift certificate from Clark's Camera Center and a gift certificate for an 8-by-10 photo from Olan Mills. Third prize is a gift certificate from Duncan Photos, a cash certificate from Phase One Multimedia Productions, a gift certificate for an 8-by-10 photo from Olan Mills and a photo frame from Bernie's Photography. Honorable mention is a photo frame from Bernie's and a gift certificate for an 8-by-10 photo from Olan Mills. All entrants will receive a participation certificate.
