Frostburg State University presents Bobby Petrocelli’s motivational talk “10 Seconds Can Change Your Life” on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall in the Lane University Center. This event is sponsored by the Western Maryland Regional Sage Communities Center and the BURG Peer Education Network.
Petrocelli has traveled the country sharing his inspirational message and life experiences in hopes to motivate and empower crowds all over the United States. The title of his speech comes from the 10 seconds that changed his own life. One night Petrocelli went to bed feeling fulfilled with is life. The next morning he awoke to a drunk driver who had driven a truck through his bedroom wall. The drunk driver’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and his ignorance had caused the untimely death of Petrocelli’s wife. Since then, Petrocelli has taken this dreadful event and turned it into an inspiring speech on life and its fragility.
