Frostburg State University’s Dr. Randall Rhodes of the Visual Arts Department along with art students Jennifer Berkow and Ashley Labrie, attended the National Conference of Liberal Arts and the Education of Artists from Oct. 20 to 22 in New York City.
The theme of the conference was “Art and Story,” and each attendee presented a paper related to this theme. Rhodes offered his paper “Jewish Narrative: Story as Non-Image,” Berkow presented “Ann Hamilton: Media Becoming the Message” and Labrie gave a presentation on “Art and Narrative Under the Third Reich.”
Both Berkow and Labrie are completing double majors in art and design and art history. The National Conference presentation is required as the art history program’s capstone course.
