Frostburg State University’s Division of Performing Arts-Music presents the FSU Jazz Ensemble on Friday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall.
The FSU Jazz Ensemble is known for its exciting, fun and high quality performances. The ensemble is under direction of James Moore who has a Bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from West Virginia University. Moore has studied trumpet since age 11 and has been competing in national-level competitions since age 14. In addition to teaching, he also performs with the Roger Humphries Big Band and the Jazz Machine, No Bad JuJu, the Max Leake Trio and is a charter member of the Three Rivers Jazz Orchestra.
The FSU Jazz Ensemble will be performing works by John LaBarbera, Frank Mantooth, Jerome Richardson, Duke Ellington and Thad Jones.
