Frostburg State University presents Dr. Leroy Johnson and his lecture “The Evolution and Genesis of African-American Studies” on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. in Dunkle Hall, room 218.
Johnson earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan, with concentrations in African History, African-American Intellectual History, and Early Modern Spain, Portugal and Modern France. He first taught in France after receiving his bachelor’s degree. He has also taught at Northeastern University, Bryn Mawr College and Michigan State University. His courses range from French and Spanish to “Ethnocentrism and Racism in the United States.”
