Sadie Stevens, a Frostburg State University graduate student of applied ecology and conservation biology, recently received the Best Student Poster Presentation Award at the 11th Annual Wildlife Society meeting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The Wildlife Society meeting is one of the largest natural resource conferences in the world. Approximately 1,800 wildlife professionals and students from the biggest natural resource-related universities in North America were in attendance. There were also representatives from other continents.
The Wildlife Society meeting mainly comprised of presentations, symposia and workshops. During the meeting, over 250 papers and 180 posters were presented. Stevens, a native of Marshfield Vt., won this award for her poster called “Use of Remote Camera Systems to Monitor the Marking Habits of Pennsylvania River Otters: Avoiding Pitfalls in Riparian Habitats.”
