“Goin’ courting” has never been as much fun! “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” comes to Frostburg State University as a part of the Cultural Events Main Stage Series. The show will be held on Sunday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Drama Theatre on campus.
“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” is a rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie. Millie, a young bride living in the 1850’s Oregon wilderness, plans to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage. Her plan backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides. The result is a musical that explodes with rambunctious energy. “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” is full of fun and romance that goes back to the glory days of the movie musical.
