The Activities for Life Center at Frostburg State University will be offering ballet classes. “A Creative Movement Ballet” class for boys and girls ages 3 to 5 years will be held on Fridays, Feb. 4 to May 6, from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. in the Dance Studio located in the FSU Cordts Physical Education Center. (There will be no class March 25.) The class is designed for young dancers, focusing on natural dance movement, stretching, music appreciation and creative dance/movement.
An “Intermediate/Advanced Ballet” class for ages 11 to adult will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 1 to May 3, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Dance Studio. (There will be no class March 22.) An audition class will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the Studio. This class is a formal study of classical ballet through progressive exercises at the barre and center. Students will be expected to demonstrate a variety of skills, including muscle control, proper posture, balance and expressiveness.
