The DaPonte String Quartet is coming to Frostburg State University as a part of the Cultural Events Main Stage Series. The show will be held on Thursday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall on campus.
“Doing things differently is business as usual” has become the motto of the DaPonte String Quartet. These gifted graduates of the Juliard School and the Peabody Conservatory are inheritors of a great classical chamber music tradition that has been carefully passed from generation to generation, carrying on a direct oral tradition traceable to Hayden, Mozart and Beethoven. They play the music they love, and their joy in performing makes the music, regardless of when it was written, come alive.
