Jazz Flutist Galen to Perform, Speak at FSU

Jazz Flutist Galen will return to Frostburg State University for two events on Thursday, March 10. At noon, he will perform his own brand of Flute Juice Jazz at the Lane University Center's Loft. Then at 7:30 p.m., Galen will lead a jazz poetry slam, providing participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their own unique talents, reading compositions to the passionate, melodic sounds of jazz.

Both events, sponsored by the FSU Black Student Alliance, are free and open to the public.

Galen, a master flutist and lecturer from Montclair, N.J., has a keen ability to transform an audience with the smooth, rich, passionate sound of his flute. His is an arranger, composer, director and educator who has performed with some of the world's greatest recording artists.
