Frostburg State University’s Brian Plitnik will perform a trombone recital on Tuesday, March 15, at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall as part of the FSU Music Department’s Faculty Artist Series.
Pianist Hui-Ling Son will accompany Plitnik. The program will consist of "Concerto for Alto Trombone" by Georg Christoph Wagenseil; "Arrows of Time" by Richard Peaslee and "BEAMS!" by James Mobberly. The show will also feature "Quintet" by Malcolm Arnold and "Dance Suite" by Leonard Bernstein, with accompaniment from the FSU brass quintet including James More on horn and Danny Hoover on bass trombone. Plitnik is currently the low brass instructor and Director of Brass Ensembles at FSU.
The program will also be presented at West Virginia University on March 9, at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall.
