FSU Presents Def Jam Poet J. Ivy
Release Date: 03/15/2005

Frostburg State’s University Programming Council presents “Poetry Night” featuring HBO Def Jam Poet J. Ivy on Saturday, April 9, at 8 p.m. in the Lane University Center Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall.

Ivy’s work bridges traditional poetry with hip-hop, as well as several other genres. His infectious mix of word play and musicality has transfixed audiences across the country, from his native Chicago to Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia, New York and Jamaica. Ivy uses his word play to uplift, acknowledge and entertain. His talent has served as the fuel for this poetic locomotive that shows no sign of derailing.
