Frostburg State University organizations are hosting a variety of activities to celebrate Earth Day.
United Campus Ministry is sponsoring a Community Clean Up on Thursday, April 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. Meet in front of Old Main on campus (rain or shine). Gloves, trash bags, paint and brushes will be provided by the city of Frostburg.
In addition, The Sierra Student Coalition is putting on an Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 23, from 1 to 11 p.m. at Frostburg’s City Place on Water Street. Sections of Mechanic Street and Water Street will be closed down. The celebration will feature live music all day from local artists, carnival games, food, prizes, a moon bounce and story-telling for children, along with information tables and demonstrations from Scales and Tales. The Sierra Student Coalition, Student Government Association, University Programming Council, tri-beta, Wildlife Society, the city of Frostburg and the Frostburg Business Association are sponsoring the event.
