FSU Presents Def Jam Poet J. Ivy
Release Date: 10/03/2005

The University Programming Council at Frostburg State University presents Def Jam Poet J. Ivy on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Lane University Center’s Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Metaphorically speaking, spoken word impresario J. Ivy is the fork in the road where traditional poetry meets hip-hop, blurring the genres.

Things have come a long way for Ivy, a former Illinois State University student who started out performing at high school and college talent shows. His genuine love for wordplay has served as the fuel for his poetic locomotive that shows no sign of derailing.
