Frostburg State University Theatre’s Season Too! will present “The Real Queen of Hearts Ain’t Even Pretty,” by Brad Bailey on Oct. 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre of the Performing Arts Center. All seats are $5.
The cut-throat and often deceitful underbelly of the pageant world is exposed through the experiences of four high school seniors in this play directed by FSU senior Jacki Dixon. Set in Double Springs, AL. in 1976, this poignant comedy displays razor-sharp wit and satire through its four female characters – Liz, the future ringleader; Cass, the follower who is stuck in the present; Sherri Lee, the pageant queen with a secret; and Paula, the girl who is neither popular nor unpopular and is always taken for granted. When it’s time for the Queen of Hearts pageant, the girls’ true colors come out – or are they just the colors that they want everyone to see?
