The Frostburg State University Brass Ensembles Concert will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, in the Pealer Recital Hall, at 8 p.m. The concert will be under the direction of Brian Plitnik.
The concert will include the pieces “Ancient Hungarian Dances” by Vaclav Nelhybel, “Introduction to Act III of Die Meistersinger” by Richard Wagner, “Russian Sailor’s Dance” by Reinhold Gliere, “Pocket Octet” by Nicholas Francis, “Brass Tacks” by Lennie Niehaus and “There is No Rose of Such Virtue” arranged by Steve Perdicaris.
The Brass Ensemble members include Annie Lewis, Mary Wempe, Danielle Merson and Laurence Bruner on trumpet; Erin Winters and David Durham on horn; Brandon Strawther, Julie Adolphsen, Matt Williams, Jonathan Beattie, Brittney Lynn, Kyle Ritchey and Brian Plitnik on trombone; Scott Cheesman on euphonium; and Scott Cheesman and Wayne Schmidt on tuba.
The concert is free and open to the public.
