The conference was hosted by the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Belgrade. White was asked to present a paper entitled “Serbian Mental Space and National Identity.” He was also asked to attend a special reception at the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade prior to the conference.

“Serbs with whom I spoke were fascinated with my ideas and didn’t dispute any of them. The Austrians who financed my trip were so impressed that they stated that they wanted to invite me to Vienna at some point. I look forward to that possibility,” White said.
