Frostburg State University Vocal and Choral Music Program presents the FSU Chamber Choir and the Opera Theatre production of “Amahl and the Night Visitors” by Gian Menotti on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the FSU Performing Arts Center.
The FSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker, and assisted by Betty Jane Phillips on piano, will open the concert with seasonal selections “Christus est Natus” by Domijan Mocnik; “Ave Maria” by Hjalmar Ragnarsson; “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” arranged by Jan Sanstrom; “Light” arranged by Michael Isaacson; “Domaredansen” arranged by Bengt Hallberg and “Betelehemu” by Via Olatunji and Wendall Whalum and arranged by Barrington Brooks.
The concert continues with the production of Menotti’s opera “Amahl and the Night Visitor.” Performers include Lauren Spinnenweber, Erin Briskey, Kyrsta Deering, Krystle Hutton, Ryan Bowie, Kerry Lee Jennings, Joseph Brickey and Arnold McNeal.
