Frostburg State University’s University Programming Council will present poets J. Ivy and Cousin Jeff on Wednesday, April 5, starting at 6:30 pm. at the Lane University Center. Admission is free.
The evening begins with spoken word poet J. Ivy. His words are known to be inspiring and uplifting with a strong and unfettered delivery. J. Ivy’s genuine love for wordplay has served as the fuel for this poetic locomotive that shows no signs of derailing.
At 8 p.m., Jeffrey Johnson, better known as “Cousin Jeff” on BET’s “Rap City,” will perform. Johnson is a social activist, A.M.E. minister and public speaker and believes that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Johnson can also be seen on the BET show “The Cousin Jeff Chronicles” discussing and enlightening young viewers on issues affecting their communities. Johnson is the former vice president of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and the Youth and College Division National Director of the NAACP.
