Author Suzanne Strempek Shea will present a talk at Frostburg State University on Wednesday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Lane University Center Atkinson Room, 201.
Shea is the author of novels such as “Selling the Lite of Heaven,” “Around Again” and “Lily of the Valley.” She is the recipient of the 2000 New England Book Award, which recognizes the contribution to the region of a literary body of works. Shea has also written two memoirs: “Songs from a Lead-Lined Room: Notes – High and Low – From My Journey Through Breast Cancer and Radiation” and “Shelf Life: Romance, Mystery, Drama and Other Page-Turning Adventures from a Year in a Bookstore.”
She has also freelanced for publications such as “Yankee Magazine,” “The Boston Globe Magazine,” “The Philadelphia Inquirer,” “Organic Style” and “The Bark.”
Shea resides in the village of Bondsville in her native western Massachusetts, and is a member of the faculty at the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA program in creative writing.
