The Frostburg State University Chorale will present its annual Spring Choral Concert on Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The program will feature FSU’s Collegium Musicum and University Chorale under the direction of Dr. Karen Soderberg and assisted by pianist Kimberly Andrews.
The performance is free and open to the public.
The University Chorale selections include Johann Michael’s “Gloria et Honore” and “Prayers of Steel” by F. Melius Christiansen. There will be also selections from Scandinavia and the Chorale will perform “Prayer of the Children,” which is a commentary on the innocent children caught up in the war in Yugoslavia.
Collegium Musicum’s performance will include “Yesu Wainyanza,” a Luhya spiritual arranged by David Zalo Okuko, and other selections such as “Kaung’a Yachee,” “Curse of Iron,” “St. John’s Song” and several other international songs.
