Frostburg State University will host an all-day workshop on growing and harvesting American Ginseng on Saturday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in room 226 of the Compton Science Center.
Participants will learn how to identify if their land would be capable of growing ginseng, growing techniques, harvesting and drying techniques, sales and permit protocols, and how to protect their crops from poachers.
There will also be a planting demonstration, and ginseng plantlets and seed will be available for sale.
