The Trident Initiative at Frostburg State University, the City of Cumberland's Western Maryland Business Resource Center, and the Western Maryland SCORE Chapter 682, will host the conference, "Tale of Two Cities ... Realizing Your Entrepreneurial Dreams" on Friday, July 14, at the Holiday Inn, Cumberland, and Saturday, July 15, at the Compton Science Center on the Frostburg State University campus.
The event will feature business and entrepreneurial opportunities in Cumberland and Frostburg and include many educational and practical discussions by regional business resource providers, area governmental, academic and other presenters.
This Conference will be of special interest to business consultants, economic development practitioners, academics, students and anyone with entrepreneurial dreams. There are numerous benefits to attending the Conference. These include opportunities to learn about entrepreneurial initiatives and resources in Cumberland and Frostburg and the region, to identify potential sources of funding and financial incentives, to network with other entrepreneurs and to become aware of entrepreneurial ingenuity and talent within the region.
The Conference also aims to recognize Cumberland and Frostburg area entrepreneurs for their contributions to this region with the "2006 Model Entrepreneur of the Year" and "2006 Young Entrepreneur of the Year" awards.
The cost to attend is $50 per person, which includes the full two-day conference, continental breakfast and a full buffet lunch each day, and a visit to an Alpaca Farm with a barbeque there the second evening.
