The FSU Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Brian Plitnik, will perform at 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the Pealer Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program will consist of “Fanfare and Chorale” by Bennie Beach, an arrangement of J.S. Bach's “Fantasia in G-Major,” “Liturgy for Brass Choir,” “Gettysburg” by David Uber and “Semper Fidelis” by John Philip Sousa. The program will also feature a brass quartet performing some traditional Christmas carols arranged by local composer, Eric Kitchen. The FSU Brass Ensemble includes Cumberland natives Mary Wempe on trumpet, Andrew May on trombone and Dan Kimble on euphonium. Other personnel consist of trumpeters Annie Lewis and Dan Reynolds; hornists Anthony Palmer and David Durham; tubist Wayne Schmidt and trombonists Brittney Lynn and Joan Keller.
