The University Programming Council’s Live at the Loft committee will present the critically acclaimed blues artist K.J. James at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Lane University Center’s Derezinski Lounge/Loft.
James has played at Frostburg before and each show is more entertaining than the last. This nationally celebrated blues musician has earned five consecutive nominations for NACA’s Campus Entertainer of the Year and has garnered international acclaim for contribution to the “Salt City Blues Project.”
James has played at events like Woodstock 99 The New York Blues Festival and Jazz Fest 2000 in Florida. His style mainly focuses on classic country blues, but with a repertoire of 500-plus songs, there is sure to be something for every type of blues fan.
This event is free and open to the public so come stomp your feet and clap your hands while enjoying one of today’s hardest working blues musicians in a rare area appearance. FSU students will also display their talents during the open mic portion of the evening.
