Songwriter and performer Jeffrey Gaines will present a songwriting workshop on Friday, March 9, at 3 p.m. in the Frostburg State University Lane University Center Derezinski Lounge/Loft. Gaines will perform several songs, discuss his process in developing each of the songs and take questions from the audience. It is an opportunity for would-be songwriters to learn more about his artistic process and how he goes about crafting his music.
Following the songwriting workshop, Gaines will be performing Live at the Loft at 8 p.m. in the LUC Derezinski Lounge/Loft. Gaines has released several albums and has worked with prominent musicians and performers in the music industry. Recently, Gaines has been described as “the man who sounds like Otis Redding, Elvis Costello, and David Bowie, wrapped in one amazing package.”
The workshop and the performance are both free and open to the public. For more information, call the Lane University Center Information Desk at (301) 687-4411.
