The African Students Association at Frostburg State University is offering the public an opportunity to learn more about the culture and traditions of Africa during its 3rd Annual “Africa at its Best” Showcase Saturday, March 31, at FSU’s Lane University Center, in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, and festivities and performances will begin at 6 p.m.
“Africa at its Best” Showcase will feature a diverse array of entertainment that includes African skits, dance performances by FSU students and members of the African Student Association and a fashion show highlighting the beauty and rich colors of African fabric with clothing by Estella Couture, a well-known fashion design company that specializes in fashions inspired by traditional fabrics of Africa.
Showcase festivities are co-funded by the Center for International Education, the Student Government Association, University Programming Council and the Residence Hall Association. Tickets may be purchased at the door: $8 for FSU students and $10 for non-students. Ticket proceeds will benefit UNICEF programs in Kenya. For more information, call (301) 687-4411.
