In order to bring attention to Western Maryland’s vibrant and growing music scene, the Frostburg State University Mass Communication Department will host the fourth annual Mind Culture Original Music concert on Friday, May 11, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Eagles Club on Main Street in Frostburg, Md. Tickets will be $5 at the door.
This event will bring several area and regional artists together under one roof for one great evening of music. “This is a great opportunity for area folks to sample some of the incredible musical talent available in this area,” says John Lombardi, FSU Department of Mass Communication Chair and instructor of the class that produces the Mind Culture Original Music project.
Each spring, students from the Department of Mass Communication create a compilation music CD featuring groups and solo artists from around the region. The culmination of the Mind Culture project is a live concert featuring artists from the CD. The concert is sure to satisfy music lovers of all kinds as several bands and solo artists encompassing a variety of musical genres will perform. All proceeds will benefit the Department of Mass Communication through the FSU Foundation, Inc.
