FSU Percussion Ensemble Concert Set for May 10

Frostburg State University’s Percussion Ensemble will present a diverse array of selections during a special performance at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Pealer Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center.

The concert is free and open to the public and is directed by Ronald Horner, with Daniel Abbott serving as student conductor.

The concert will include a lively program with selections from noted composers and musicians such as "Timesliding Towards Twirling" by Steve Riley; "Ostinato-A-Koto" by Tory Breaux; "Ancient Tower Bells" by Steve Riley (conducted by Abbott); "Sinister Minister" by Bela Fleck, arranged by David Steinquest; "Dill Pickles" by Charles Johnson, arranged by Ed Argenziano; "Carlsbad" by Earl Hatch; and "El Caribe" by Lalo Davila.

Featured performers include Daniel Abbott, Milton Alexander, Ryan Atlow, Kaetie Combs, Emily Finch, Amanda Funkhouser, Mark Gauthier, Gregory Harris, Hannah Lagno; Wayne Schmidt, Trevor Seits, Colin Shultzaberger, Sally Stephenson and Abbie Vanderwest.
