Elizabeth D. Medcalf has been named Director of News and Media Services at Frostburg State University.
Medcalf had been serving as Acting Director since May of 2006. A member of the FSU staff since 1999, she was previously Associate Director of News and Media Services.
“I am excited to name Liz Director of News and Media Services,” said Timothy L. Kershner, Vice President for Communications and Media Relations. “She brings a variety of writing and leadership skills to the position and has proven a valuable member of the FSU staff.”
Prior to joining the FSU staff, Medcalf was a reporter and editor for the Herald-Mail newspaper in Hagerstown, Md., serving as City Editor and Assistant City Editor as well as a reporter covering Frederick County and education issues.
Medcalf holds a bachelor’s degree with a major in English from Roanoke College, Salem, Va., graduating with honors, and she is a member of the 1995-1996 class of Leadership Hagerstown.
