Up-and-coming area bands can show off their skills and take a chance at winning a $400 prize at the annual Frostburg Block Party on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 10 p.m., which will feature the event’s first-ever “Battle of the Bands.”
Applications are due by 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16. The Frostburg Block Party Planning Committee will choose the finalists. Entrants will be notified of the status of their applications by Monday, Aug. 20.
The judging panel will be made up of a pool of three volunteers from the Frostburg-area professional arts community and one Frostburg State University student, selected by raffle. Judging criteria will include content, originality, musical ability, stage presence and crowd response. The winner will be announced at the end of the Block Party.
