The Frostburg State University Department of Music will present a junior recital by flutist Ashley Burton on Monday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. She will be accompanied on the piano by Sarah Burton and perform a duet with flutist Amy Saavedra.
Burton, a graduate of Wicomico High School in 2005, is the daughter of Alan and Sarah Burton of Salisbury, Md. She is a Music Education major with Spanish minor and is expected to graduate from FSU in the spring of 2009. She is presently a member of FSU Flute Ensemble, Sigma Alpha Lota and the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference.
Burton’s program will include “Sonata in A Major” by Mozart, “Kokopeli” by Katherine Hoover, “Duo I” by Anton Stamitz and “Fantasie” by Georges Hue.
