Frostburg State University will present “Abundance,” a tender and dark comedy, by Beth Henley. The play will be shown in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre on Nov. 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for non-students.
“Abundance” follows two mail-order brides, Bess and Macon, who travel to Wyoming Territory for romance, adventure and the “boundlessness of it all.” Along their journey, they experience big dreams, disappointing and abusive husbands, betrayal, Indian captivity and a big-money lecture tour. The women learn to survive both life and friendship in the ever expanding West, while discovering the various meanings of abundance along the way.
