Frostburg State University’s International Film Series will show, “The Joy Luck Club,” on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Lane University Center Atkinson Room. The viewing is free and open to the public.
This R-rated film follows the lives of four remarkable Chinese mothers’ and their American daughters’ extraordinary lives as they experience love and tragedy as well as richness and magic.
This epic film, based on the best-selling novel by Amy Tan, beautifully reveals startling events and conditions that have shaped the lives of several generations of Chinese women.
“The Joy Luck Club” is filmed in China, directed by Wayne Wang, and was first released in the United States in 1993.
