The Frostburg State University Center for Creative Writing will be hosting its third annual Writing and Art Workshop on Saturday, April 12, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the second floor conference rooms in the Lane University Center.
The “Art and Creative Writing” workshop will be offered by noted author Sean Thomas Dougherty and will focus on the use of visual art as a muse for writing. Participants are encouraged to bring art that inspires them.
Jennifer Merrifield, a poet and professor at Potomac State College of West Virginia University, will instruct the “Writing Artist’s Statements, Bios and Vision Statements” workshop. The workshop will assist artists in writing about and critiquing their own work.
The final workshop “Writing Art Reviews” will be instructed by Jack Dubose, a professor at Garrett College. Participants will learn how to critique different aspects of art using FSU’s current art show in the Roper Gallery.
The cost is $25. To register, contact the FSU Center for Creative Writing at 301-687-4024 or by e-mailing the center at firstname.lastname@example.org.
