Los Angeles-based musician Libbie Schrader will perform as part of Frostburg State University’s Lunch in The Loft Music Series sponsored by the University Programming Council on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. in the Derezinski Lounge/Loft in the Lane University Center.
Schrader first appeared on the music scene when she and her band, Think of England, won the Pantene Pro-Voice “New Song of 2001” Competition. Schrader and her band beat out 1,200 other female-fronted acts for the award. Schrader’s band also took part in Jewel’s “Soul City Café” program for independent artist. During this time she opened three shows on Jewel’s “This Way” tour. Schrader is currently a solo artist, and her 2004 release of “Letters to Boys” received the top review of the week from NPR.org.
